What is industrial gear oil? According to ISO 6743.6, also known as GB/T 7631.7 Classification Standard for Industrial Gear Lubricants: Industrial gear oil is used for lubrication of gears or worm gears, with the product symbol CK. The function of gear transmission is to change the rotation speed of rotating parts, while the function of worm gear transmission is to change the direction of rotating parts.
The difference between industrial gear oil and vehicle gear oil
1. Used in different occasions. The former is used for lubrication of fixed industrial equipment gearboxes, while the latter is used for lubrication of mobile on-board gearboxes. That is to say, the latter uses oil with a large variation in ambient temperature and is a flow equipment, with relatively high requirements for high and low temperatures. Therefore, vehicle gear oil needs to be divided into multi-level and single level.
2. Medium and heavy-duty vehicle gears are generally hyperbolic gears, which have higher load-bearing requirements than industrial gears that are often cylindrical or conical. Therefore, the load-bearing capacity of medium load vehicle gear oil is equivalent to that of heavy load industrial gear oil. Therefore, medium load vehicle gear oil with a considerable viscosity grade can replace heavy-duty industrial gear oil such as 90 GL-4 or 85W/90 GL-4, which can replace 220 CKD.
3. The viscosity grade of vehicle gear oil is classified according to the regulations of the American Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and measured as the kinematic viscosity at 100 ¡æ. Industrial gear oil is classified according to the regulations of the International Organization for Standardization ISO, and its kinematic viscosity is measured at 40 ¡æ. Therefore, substitution requires conversion.
4. In terms of classification, ISO only specifies the classification symbol C for industrial gear oil, and does not specifically specify the grouping symbol for vehicle gear oil. China uses API to classify GL-3, GL-4, and GL-5.
